Can I bet online legally in Australia?
Yes. The Interactive Gambling Act 2001 sets the rules, and betting with an operator licensed by an Australian state or territory racing or gambling authority is legal. Offshore sites without that licence are not covered.
How do I check that a betting site is licensed here?
Every licensed operator appears on the register of a state or territory authority, most commonly the Northern Territory Racing and Wagering Commission. How old do I have to be?
